The number of covid case transmissions from Hairdressers and Barbers have been extremely low and this would surely be due to the fact that regular hand washing, sterilising of tools and work surfaces takes place regularly in Salons. Its part of Salon culture to maintain a hygenically clean working environment. This year, our Premier, Gladys Berejiklian announced that Hairdressers and Barbers have been deemed as 'non essential'. In March 2020, Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced that hair salons were an essential business and after much criticism, salons could operate with the one person per four square metre rule.
